For 20 Seasons up to 2023 I had been going to Haunts all over New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio; some of Michigan, So Cal, Tucson and St. Louis. Most years were paid but starting in 2021 as a writer for Scurryface.com, I got 25 free tickets, a free BTS Tour and free tours of Markup Attractions over three seasons. The stress of the obligations and scheduling of work and loss of connections and even a dramatic shift in how I see the experience of going to a haunt has forced me to change how I do things. I will no longer go for free, I will no longer be in front every time and I will no longer thoroughly analyze every little thing. I want this to be a social thing that I can enjoy and bring both value and show respect to haunters.
